Photography Blog Updated!

I just spent at least an hour of my precious time updating my photography website with a few recent sessions, so please, if you have a heart, go look at it.  I hate updating that thing and it will be awhile until I do it again, I'm sure!!  It's wordpress, and I don't know it as well as blogger plus I think my version is outdated or something because it takes way too long to upload photos- it is a big time pain.

That's all,

Have a great day!

Love Week 2013 Day 5

I love photography and being able to take cute pictures of my kids whenever I want to.  They didn't have school today so we played around.  Logan did not want to participate but tonight I decided I'm going to make him tomorrow.  I need pictures of him too!  My girls are always game, and Mack can easily be bribed with jelly beans.

Something else I love?
65-70 degree weather and bike rides to the park and dad's office in February.
 LOVE!

ps I think Logan has been wearing this sweatshirt in every picture I've taken of him since Christmas.  I promise he wears other clothes every day--- it's just whenever I pull out my camera he's in that darn thing again!

A Few Favorites from Our Christmas Card Session

These are all self-timer, taken by me, taken by Dave, or taken by Lexi. Someday I'll pay for real pictures from another photographer.  Actually,  I have twice but both times did not turn out well so I'm not going to waste my money when I can do a decent job myself.  It would be nice to have some close-ups of the whole family and some fun candids sometime though.

This time we got out of the house a bit late and were going to miss the sun!  We pulled into the spot where I wanted to shoot and there was a teense of sun left way up on a hill.  Even though it was completely muddy I made everyone run/hike up the hill and just as we arrived into the sun it went behind the hills and was gone.  I was sad but I think the photos turned out great even without sun.  And by some miracle no one got TOO muddy.

Merry Christmas from the Harlows!

Ahhh Love...

The week after Christmas I shot two weddings... of course I was a bit zonked and not super excited when the time came. But this first couple was so cute together and I had a great time doing their pictures! You could tell they were really in love and made a great pair. And nothing beats the scenery at the Oakland temple. Gorgeous weather and just a very nice day overall. More pictures here on my photoblog!

Owl PJ's and a Beautiful Wedding

I bought these owl pajamas the other day and I love him in them. He's been sleeping in just a onesie almost since birth so it's fun that it's getting a little cooler at night now and he can wear cozy pj's.

This weekend I shot a wedding at the grand island mansion- wow it is so pretty there! A beautiful couple, beautiful location, some old friends- it was a good time. Although I couldn't move my arms and legs the next day. I get ridiculously sore after holding a big old lens and doing squats. I could never be a full time wedding photographer. But it is so fun when I do one!

This week my kids have minumum days all week long and then next week begins their two week break! I'm looking forward to some down time and a break from homework.

Also, Bremily is moving here this weekend and I can't wait.

Now it's Monday morning and I'm off to do my jobs: clean the house, laundry, return library books, go to the bank, and plan some meals and treats for the week.

I'm out!

Cold.

Foggy Day Photos Here.

Thought I'd make the most of the WORST weather. I'm freezing. But taking the photos was fun. Then we came home and had hot chocolate. I hope Macey will always pose for me.

Happy Weekend All!

OCF Workshop!

(love her freckles)

This weekend I took the Rock the OCF photography workshop by Ali Hohn. It was so fun! My kids and Dave came to town with me (because we apparently have separation anxiety) and so when 2 of the models cancelled today, my kids got to come and model for awhile! Logan wouldn't, which I was sad about. And Macey just happened to put a tattoo on her NECK the day before. Horrible timing. I could photoshop it out but it is just so her so I left it.

To see more images that I took at the workshop go to my photo blog here.

I'd Rather Pet My Cat Then Go Grocery Shopping

I truly hate grocery shopping. But it is one of my "duties" so I must do it. Here are my recent goals to try to make it a more pleasant experience:
1. Go first thing after I drop the kids off at school. Early morning= me having more energy and I get it over with for the day!

2. Never go on a Wednesday. Wednesdays are the one day a week I do not get a nap. I must have a nap on a grocery day.

3. Wear a jacket. Even if it is 100 degrees outside I will be cold in there. Guaranteed. I always forget that and end up miserable and racing around to get out as soon as
possible.

4. Plan ahead- blah blah blah. Do you know how many times I re-commit to this goal?? Sometimes I'm good at it, sometimes I'm not, but we all know it makes a huge difference to plan meals a week or two in advance and shop that way. But it is hard for me. I'm
more of a "what do I feel like today" type of girl.

5. Reward myself with some sort of prize if I do a good job shopping. Ideas: sandwich from deli, new deodorant, candy bar.

6. Don't rush. I feel like I'm always trying to get it over with and end up rushing around and raging at slow pokes in my way. I need to enjoy the grocery shopping journey.

7. Put a smile on my face. I am determined to go with a cheerful attitude. I am going to try not to get annoyed with old people pushing their cart slow in front of me, other people
taking up the entire isle, slow salesclerks, perverted men trying to make conversation, and slow baggers.

Wish me luck!

And... am I missing anything? Tell me what helps you.

p.s. on Saturday I got to photography my friend's wedding. SHE LOOKED GORGEOUS! See more here.

I realized I haven't posted much about the wedding. I've been working on getting all of their pictures done but wanted to post some of the fun ones of the kids and family that were there. Still haven't started on the reception pics yet! More portraits of the bride and groom here.
