Some Skiing

I took the kids up skiing the other day.  It is my favorite thing to do and I so wish we could go more.  It's just kindof a huge effort to get Mack watched for the day and rent skiis for everyone and plan ahead etc. etc.  But when I'm skiing down those slopes it is SO worth it.  And then I want to go everyday.  The best part is seeing my kids get better and getting to bond with them while doing something I love!  I can't wait till Mack is old enough to come with us and go to ski school for the day... and then of course when he can ski with us too and I'll have all my kids with me.  My dream....

Anyway, I took the photo below last time we went.  I love it.  It's just with my iphone but the lighting is great and the mountain in the back is beautiful.  It's a new fave.

Garbage Trucks and Speed Bumps...

It's all Mack talks about these days.  What kid loves speed bumps?  I've never heard of it, but it's so cute to me.  The only issue is he will run into any street or parking lot if he sees a speed bump so we have to be extra careful watching him.

Every Friday is garbage day.  Sometimes we leave the house just so I don't have to deal with 4 hours of him going crazy over the trucks or crying to sit out on the front porch.  Our recycle truck, yard waste truck, and garbage truck come separately so it really is 4 hours worth of them showing up every 20 minutes or so, up and down the street.

Mack is obsessed.  When he hears the truck he runs to any window, begs to go outside, talks about it nonstop, asks where it is when it leaves.  His little heart beats so fast!  I think he is half scared of them.

I did a search on you tube for garbage truck videos for him to watch- bad idea.  He now cries at the computer and begs for more.

Obviously he is getting ALL garbage trucks for his birthday in a couple of weeks.

The other day he stood on Lexi's bed (where he had a great view of the street) for 2 hours.  2 hours!  He's way too little to care this much!  2 hours waiting for a few seconds glimpse of the garbage truck.  It kills me.  He is so intense.  Little boys are the cutest.

Here he is in his "happy place"- on the front porch on a Friday morning, waiting for his true love to drive by!

And now some videos of his speed bump love:

Love Week- the end

I always drop the ball at the end of things.  I think it's because I'm not obsessive enough.  Anyway, love week was fun.  Valentines Day was fun.  I had a lot of fun making these Valentines of Mack:

But I just keep thinking about something that happened this week.  It's the beginning of tax season and Dave is starting to be busy.  I always start of energetic and ready to do things on my own and handle it all for two months (it's only two months!)

Well, my back hurt really bad this week- I injured it somehow.  And I hate grocery shopping more than any other mom job.  And it was 8pm one night before I was able to get the kids settled and get out the door for some much needed groceries.  I was exhausted.  Nighttime is hard for me. Dave hadn't been home yet.  My back hurt and I called him from the car complaining and grumpy.  He said, "where are you going right now?"  I said, "grocery shopping."  And he did this big long sigh..... like 'why are you grocery shopping late at night when you hate it so much and your back hurts and you should have called me I would have done it'.

Anyway, we got off the phone and 10 minutes later as I'm depressingly pushing my cart down the aisle and reaching up to get something off a shelf I hear, "do you need help with that Miss?" and I turn around and it's him.  He pushed my cart around for me and we finished the job together. It was the best love gift ever and that's how I know he loves me.  Not because he brings me flowers and chocolates (even though he does) but because he's there for me.  He knows me.  He wants to be with me and help me.  And he shows me that so much and I'm really thankful.  I love you Dave.

Love Week 2013 Day 6

I love that Macey is doing the 14 days of Valentines to EVERY ONE IN OUR FAMILY!  The child has so much energy!  She has not missed a day.  It melts my heart when I see my daily token on my nightstand.  She has left chocolate, pictures, coupons for back rubs, and she even sewed us all drawstring pouches and put one square of a hershey bar in it.  She was behind that day and got up at 6am to finish sewing.  She is the cutest.  I would pay money to have the endless energy she has.  And she is so filled with love for everyone too- it is just the best.

Today I loved finding two rocks in my house as I was vacuuming tonight.  Normally this could bug me, but it hit me that it means my kids are still little and when they see a cool rock they keep it and that's just cute. The rocks were near Logan's backpack so I think they were his.  But they may have been Macey's as she also collects rocks.  I know someday my house will be clean 24/7 and I will probably miss finding rocks, and drawings, and kids stuff all over the place.  So for now I'm choosing to love it!

Anyone have fun ideas for Valentines day?  Dave and I gave up last year on going out- I'm tired of battling crowds and waiting a long time to get seated to eat.  So we're planning to stay in this year but I still want to do something different and fun/ relaxing and involving delicious food... that is if we can get the kids in bed at a decent hour.

XOXOXOX

Love Week 2013 Day 5

I love photography and being able to take cute pictures of my kids whenever I want to.  They didn't have school today so we played around.  Logan did not want to participate but tonight I decided I'm going to make him tomorrow.  I need pictures of him too!  My girls are always game, and Mack can easily be bribed with jelly beans.

Something else I love?
65-70 degree weather and bike rides to the park and dad's office in February.
 LOVE!

ps I think Logan has been wearing this sweatshirt in every picture I've taken of him since Christmas.  I promise he wears other clothes every day--- it's just whenever I pull out my camera he's in that darn thing again!

Love Week 2013 Day 4

Here we go with day four of some loves!

I love Sundays and Sugar cookies!

Sugar cookies is obvious, but the reason I love Sundays is because my calendar looks like this on every Sunday:

It is the only day of the week where we almost always have NOTHING planned.  It is the one day a week that I don't have to drive kids around, grocery shop, help with homework, edit photo sessions, or really do anything that I don't want to do.  We go to church every Sunday for 3 hours and that's it.  Then we eat, nap, go on walks or hikes, make a yummy treat, lay around, read, whatever.  I wear sweats from the second I walk in the door from church the entire day and it is the best.  I LOVE Sundays.  It truly is a day of rest for me and as my kids have gotten bigger and busier I am realizing it is my ONLY day of rest the entire week!  I love it.

Go along with the Sunday thing is hymns.  I love Hymns.  They speak to me.  I can't hardly sing them anymore without crying.  There's still the occasional weird one that makes me laugh or go whaaa?  But most of the hymns in this book are powerful witnesses to me of Jesus Christ, they bring peace to my soul, and strengthen my spirit.  When the kids are fighting or crazy I can turn some hymns on and it calms people down.  I love them!

Go read some other loves!

Love Week 2013 Day 3

My loves for today:

I love that my brother Devin and his wife Kim and their two kids just moved back to the bay area.  I'm so excited!  They will be living in Brentwood which is crazy since I JUST moved from there!!!  That part is actually kind of a bummer.  But Brentwood is great and I know they'll love it.  I'm so happy they will be close.  He is my fifth and final brother to be living here.  YAY!

I love running group!
When I moved here a few friends invited me to come run with them.  Well, for whatever reason it always seemed too hard so I didn't go.  Finally 4 weeks ago I decided to go and it was really fun!  I never used to like to run with people because if I can't breathe, I won't be able to talk either.  Well, it turns out that you don't have to talk that much- someone else always is and you can just listen, or you can talk through your frantic breaths and everyone is cool with that.  Anyway, when I run by myself I can only go max 2.5 miles.  With running group I can go 4.5 which is what we did today! And I could have kept going! It is so great and I am shocked to admit it but I LOVE it!

I love kind, caring teachers.  This week I had to deal with a horrible teacher and it was not fun.  It made me ever so grateful for the wonderful teachers that my kids have had.  I also had a phone conversation with a teacher today and she is awesome.  I can tell she cares a lot about my child.  She told me that that's why she gets up and goes into work every morning because she loves these kids.  That meant so much to me and I know that she has my kids back and I am thankful for that!  I love good teachers!  We have had some great ones and I will not let one or two bad experiences make me bitter.

Are you feeling the love yet?
These people are:

Anyone else?

Love Week 2013 Day 2

It looks like love week this year is going to be posted from my phone. I have had no time!! But I love it and still want to do it.

My loves today:

Garden Salsa sun chips. They are so good!!! My favorite snack right now and I need to stop buying them they are not good for me. I love the little kick they have. If you haven't tried them please do asap.

12 year old girls!! I love them! Tonight I took Lexi and her friends shopping. They'd been dying to get these certain skirts and have been trying to plan a time to go to Target together. I finally decided to give up a Friday night and take them. They were cracking me up the whole time. They have so much energy and excitement! They're so anxious to be teenagers!  They're so excited to have matching skirts!!! They sing Taylor swift so loudly in the car! And I sing with them! And so does Macey who wants to be 12 just like them!  Anyway- I love Lexi's friends and preteens in general.  They are fun.

We went to chik fil a first of course.

I love my shellac manicure. I want my nails done always.
Have I reached the age in my life that I deserve that? I think so.

Who else is doing love week?
I saw Tiffany and Mindy's today. Who else? Let me know!!
                                                                ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Love Week 2013 Day 1

Well folks, I said I'd start love week today. But instead I spent my day dealing with a ridiculous teacher that mistreated my child. And not feeling the love. I'm sitting on the couch now eating sun chips and planning what to say when I meet with her in person tomorrow. Boohoo.

But I did wear my new love sweater so that has to count for something! Hopefully I'll be here tomorrow with some good love to share. Goodnight!

Love Week 2012 - Day 5

I love our vitamix. Drinking a green smoothie everyday makes me feel good.

And after I have that I feel ok about eating 5 of these things...

I love sugar cookies even though they make me sick.

I also love big puffy clouds,

finding a shirt buried deep in my closet- it's almost like going shopping and getting something new...
I love how long Lexi's hair is getting and how excited she is about it,

I love hanging with this foo,
I love running errands with my little boyfriend... just me and him...,

I love chatting it up with Logan... I really enjoy our conversations, he has good and funny things to say....,

I love how artsy Macey is....,

I love these groundhogs my kids made in their cooking club a few weeks ago... adorable!

And last but not least I love that love week is over (I'm a wimp but blogging everyday is hard), and I love that I am about to go lounge on the couch for 20 minutes before bed, and I love that I get to wake up in the morning and do everything all over again. That part can be hard to love, but I really do love it most of the time. Oh and I think Dave is planning a secret date tomorrow- LOVE that!

Happy Valentines Day Blogging World!
