Hiking and Sunset Viewing in Maui...

One day we drove up to the north of the island and hiked around.  We were trying to get a good look at a blowhole but it just wasn't blowing.  Then we went and hiked down to the Olivine Pools...

It was gorgeous out there... a little bit overcast and rainy but still warm of course.

The misty weather made Mack's hair so curly-- I loved it!

When we got down to the pools it was a little different than it looked online.  Because of the grey weather the pools weren't clear--- they were a little bit murky and there were fish in them.  Also, you can't tell from the picture but the water was crashing into the rocks and made it a little spooky.  Soooo Logan, Lexi and I kindof took at look and wanted to leave to higher ground.  Macey and Dave wanted to get in.  So we went up higher and they jumped in and swam for a minute.  They said it was cool... fish and all!

We also loved just sitting on the beach at sunset.  I love that time of day in Hawaii- warm but no sun beating down on you.. and it's just beautiful everywhere you look.  We sat on Kaanapali and waited for the sunset diver to dive off of black rock.  And took silhouette pictures...

The girls loves these big flowers you find everywhere.

Here's the diver.. he runs up the rock and lights the torches and then dives in.. it's pretty cool!  He has wild hair and seems very native which adds to the cool culture effect.

I want to go back.  Next time I"ll take them to Oahu and do some of the touristy stuff.
