Thanks for your help and encouragement. As many of you said, it's only hair. It grows back. I used to be more daring with my hair but after a few huge hair mistakes (I was basically a boy in 1999 right after my wedding) I stopped taking risks. But I'm ready to take a leap again! I'll let you know when it happens. Now back to Christmas.

You look great with bangs! My only advice is to err on the side of too long. My last haircut the girl chopped my bangs--They have been two short for about 3 weeks now and they look terrible! I just pin them back sometimes they are so bad. Much better to have them too long and trim a tiny bit off at home.

There has only been one period in my (adult) life where I DIDN'T have bangs. I have major cowlicks in the front, but unlike some... I don't think they are that much work. It may take some training and adjusting if you haven't had them in a while, but not hard at all. Of course I have bad hair days, but bangs (done in the right way, like your pictures) are sophisticated and frame your face and give the illusion of having a "style" without actually having one. Ha! Does that make sense?
